ホルムズ海峡 Geopolitics ✓ Verified Citations Market Practitioner Term
<Definition> The Strait of Hormuz is one of the world's largest maritime energy transit routes, connecting the Persian Gulf and the Gulf of Oman. Traffic is separated under a Traffic Separation Scheme (TSS) set by the International Maritime Organization (IMO). As of 2025, oil (crude and products) transiting the Strait reached roughly 20 million barrels per day, accounting for about 25% of the world's total seaborne oil trade. Liquefied natural gas (LNG) also transits the Strait in large volumes — around 19–20% of global LNG trade — most of it supplied by Qatar and the United Arab Emirates.
